Walk the Camino. Accompany a Seminarian. Encounter Christ.
This summer, you are invited into a rare and grace-filled experience: to walk the final half of the Camino Francés as a Companion, journeying side by side with seminarians as they complete a six-week pilgrimage of formation, prayer, and discipleship.
From León to Santiago de Compostela, you’ll walk ancient paths worn smooth by centuries of pilgrims — priests, saints, seekers, and sinners — all drawn by the same quiet call: “Come and see.”
What Is a Companion?
A Companion is more than a fellow traveler. You are an intentional pilgrim, invited by a seminarian to share in the sacred rhythm of the Camino:
-
daily walking and prayer
-
fraternity and meaningful conversation
-
silence, simplicity, and encounter
-
growth in faith, vocation, and missionary discipleship
Just as Christ walked with His disciples on the road to Emmaus, companions walk alongside seminarians — listening, sharing, and discovering how God speaks through the journey itself.
A Pilgrimage With Purpose
This Camino pilgrimage is led by Fr. Kevin McQuone, Associate Dean of Propaedeutic and Discipleship Formation at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, in partnership with the Camino Pilgrim Foundation (CPF) and Follow My Camino.
For seminarians, this pilgrimage is a formative step toward priesthood.
For companions, it is a unique invitation to step into that formation, to witness vocational discernment up close, and to deepen your own relationship with Christ.
You do not need to be discerning priesthood to participate. Companions may be:
-
fellow seminarians
-
discerners
-
young adults or lay friends
-
men seeking renewal, clarity, or a deeper walk with the Lord
Why Join as a Companion?
-
Walk one of the most sacred pilgrimages in the world
-
Share authentic fraternity with seminarians and priests
-
Experience daily prayer woven into ordinary life
-
Disconnect from noise and reconnect with what matters most
-
Become part of a missionary journey that forms disciples who form others
This is not a tour.
It is not a retreat.
It is a living pilgrimage — one step, one prayer, one conversation at a time.
Join the Journey
Each companion joins for the second half of the Camino, walking from León to Santiago de Compostela, where the pilgrimage culminates at the tomb of St. James.
By joining, you share not only the road, but also the spiritual fruits of the entire six-week journey — from Lourdes to Santiago — carried in prayer by the seminarians and supported by the wider Church through the Camino Pilgrim Foundation.
